Terms of Service
Effective October 9, 2026
Pekudei is a service of SoftFinity Corp., doing business as Pekudei ("Pekudei", "we", "us"). These terms are the agreement between us and the organization that signs up for the service ("you", "the shul"). By using Pekudei you accept them.
1. The service
Pekudei is software for synagogues and other nonprofit organizations: membership, dues, donations, pledges, vendor bills, a general ledger, and an AI agent that proposes and posts reconciliations. We may add, change or retire features. If a change removes something you rely on, we will tell you before it takes effect.
2. Your account
You decide who in your organization may use the service and what they may do. You are responsible for what is done under your users' accounts and for keeping sign-in details private. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been misused.
3. Your data
The records you enter, import or generate in Pekudei belong to you. We use them only to provide the service to you, as the Privacy Policy describes. You may export all of your data at any time to Excel, CSV or plain text, and we will help you move it to another vendor if you leave. There is no vendor lock-in.
4. Payments made through the service
Card payments by your members and donors are processed by Stripe, and bank connections are provided by Plaid. Other financial institutions and payment services you connect, such as PayPal, Venmo, Cash App and Zelle, and a CRM such as Salesforce or Zoho, are provided by those companies. Each works under its own terms, which you accept when you connect it. Pekudei does not hold your funds. Money moves between the payer, the processor and your bank account. Full card numbers never reach our servers.
5. The AI agent and your books
The agent runs on privately hosted AI. Your data is not used to train any model. The agent matches payments and deposits by rules and by a model, and it sends a match to a person when it is not sure. You decide whether the agent may post confident matches by itself or must wait for approval. The books are yours: you remain responsible for reviewing them, for your tax filings and for the receipts and statements you send. Pekudei is not an accounting, tax or legal adviser.
6. Fees
Your first month is a free trial. You may leave during it and owe nothing. After the trial the price is $40 a month, or $196 paid in advance for each six months. Fees are charged in advance. You may cancel a monthly subscription at any time, and it ends at the close of the month already paid. The six-month plan renews every six months until you cancel, and a six-month payment is not refunded for the unused part unless we end the service. Subscriptions are billed through Polar. We will give at least 30 days' notice before a price change, and a change never applies to a period you have already paid for. Processor fees charged by Stripe on your members' payments are separate and are yours.
7. Acceptable use
You will not use the service to break the law, to process payments for anything other than your organization's own activities, to send unsolicited bulk email, to probe or disrupt the service, or to access another organization's data.
8. Availability and support
We work to keep the service available and your data backed up, and we do not promise that it will never be interrupted. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where we can. Support is by email, as the Support page describes. A real person will read and reply, not AI.
9. Security
We keep each organization's data apart from every other's, encrypt it in transit and at rest, require a second sign-in step for administrators, and log changes. Card data is handled by Stripe under the PCI standard. The Privacy Policy describes how personal information is handled.
10. Ending the agreement
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end an account that is unpaid or that breaks these terms, after telling you and giving you a reasonable chance to fix it, except where the law or the safety of other customers requires us to act at once. After the agreement ends we keep your data available for export for 60 days and then delete it, apart from what the law requires us to keep.
11. Warranties and liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim connected with the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Neither side is liable to the other for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with its effective date and, for a change that matters, tell your administrators by email at least 30 days before it applies.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute that the parties cannot settle between themselves is brought in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California.
